Skip to content Home Dissertation What is a good substitute for fromage frais? Been searching on the internet and there doesn't seem to be a huge difference. She has about 7oz in each bottle. I cut the pm bottle as she just didnt want it. I've started giving her vitamin drops just to be on the safe side, though I give her a v balanced diet full of home made fresh food. She loves my chicken liver with mashed potatoes.

Can't believe it as it has quite a strong taste. Interesting reading though. I obviously will point it out to parents when I give them my reviews. The other child came into me as a baby and was in the middle of weaning so mum provided food for the 1st year - petit filous were something she sent in and probably the reason why I continued to buy them when I took over providing food, hence the reason it never crossed my mind.

Thank you for your input on the sugar intake, I'll look into that in more detail. If you are buying just normal run of the mill yogurt and fromage frais I don't think there is any difference. I prefer organic type yogurt as it has "good bacteria" in. In all honesty, childrens yog and ff, tend to be very high sugar. I was told though to offer yogurts long before ff when weaning and then natural yogurt with fruit if necessary if possible. The HVs at post natal said if wean babies on the sweet fromage frais then they will not then like yogurt as it is so sweet.

However, I don't think I would pick up on you as a childminder giving them ff instead of yogurt, unless I had decided to supply my own to you. Natural fromage frais doesn't! Add to that the fact that things like raisins coat the teeth with sticky sugar.
